About Kim: She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner dedicated to supporting youth and families. She provides supervision and consultation to therapists and other social service providers to help guide them in being able to provide well rounded and evidenced based care to youth. With extensive experience working with children and a deep understanding of various challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and other related issues, Kim offers specialized expertise in addressing a wide range of challenges faced by children, adolescents, and families. Kim’s approach to clinical practice is rooted in the belief that play is the natural language of children. Incorporating creativity and play into our work provides an effective avenue for expression and healing. Through playful engagement and meaningful interventions, clients have an opportunity to explore their emotions, develop coping skills, and build resilience. Kim emphasizes the importance of involving parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process. By offering guidance, support, and resources, we can help families strengthen their relationships, enhance communication, and create lasting change. With a holistic and compassionate philosophy, Kim is committed to empowering youth and families to overcome obstacles and thrive in all aspects of their lives.

Kim fun facts: I’m the proud mom of two teenagers/young adults, which means I’m practically an expert in eye rolls and existential crises. Remember when their childhood seemed like an endless loop of tantrums and sleep deprivation? Well, blink twice and suddenly they’re driving, graduating, and reminding you how old you are. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions: one minute you’re beaming with pride, the next you’re questioning your sanity. Having worked with kids my whole career, I’ve learned that they teach you as much as you teach them. The impact we have on each other is like glitter—it never really goes away. So nurture those little humans, because they’re shaping you too. When I’m not wrangling teenagers or imparting wisdom, you’ll find me on the sidelines of their sports games, in my flower garden or spending time with friends or family.

Why Cedar? Providers often don’t have the flexibility or support necessary to effectively provide high quality, evidenced based care to kids. Despite our best intentions and efforts, administrative constraints or other barriers often limit our ability to be creative in how we work with kids and their parents. At Cedar, we support our clinicians in obtaining advanced, specialized training & supervision to ensure clinical confidence and high level of skill. We also support our providers in maintaining reduced caseloads to ensure they have the time and capacity to be thoughtful and intentional in their work. I believe this fosters better engagement, more meaningful change, and improved outcomes for both kids and their families.
