We understand the dynamic nature of working with children, where situations can quickly escalate.

Recognizing this reality, we offer on-call crisis support exclusively for our established clients and families, accessible Monday through Saturday. Monitored by a licensed therapist, this service ensures that families have immediate access to real-time support during their most challenging and daunting moments.

It also offers strategies to navigate challenging situations, enabling families to adapt and grow together.

Crisis Support at Cedar Mental Health

Rest assured, we’re here to provide the guidance and assistance needed to navigate through crises effectively, offering reassurance and stability when it matters most.

Current Cedar clients can access phone crisis support as short-term service provided during a family or mental health crisis. These services help the child and or family to:

Cedar Mental Health is as private pay clinic. We do not accept insurance. Many of our services are customized based on individual client & family need.

Service Fees : Crisis Line Service

per contact, billed in 15min increments

$150

Types of problem situations:

Crisis problems

(situations that require assistance within 24 hours)

*contact your CMH therapist, if it is during crisis support hours.  If outside crisis support hours contact the crisis numbers or call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Examples of crisis problems: 

  • Potentially dangerous, threatening, self harming, destructive or suicidal behaviors
  • Developing and worsening family dynamics that may escalate to aggression or dangerous behaviors
  • Parents who feel capable and competent to support a child who is struggling but need support and guidance to continue to do so
  • Substance use that poses potential risk for overdose or medical emergency
  • Symptoms of significant substance intoxication or impairment
  • Psychotic symptoms: hearing voices, paranoia, auditory hallucinations, fear about being harmed 

Urgent problems

(situations that need to be addressed within 3-5 days)

*schedule an urgent session with the therapist 

Examples of urgent problems: 

  • Behaviors or patterns of symptoms that may lead to a crisis in a short time frame
  • Exposure or involvement in traumatic event
  • Symptoms and behaviors that disrupt important events
  • Substance use recurrence
  • Discovery of paraphernalia, means for self harm (razors or sharps), concerning journal entries/notes

Emergency problems

These are situations that require immediate assistance.

Examples of emergency problems:

  • significant risk of violence or suicide
  • dangerous, violent, self harming or destructive behavior
  • condition that may be the result of taking or not taking prescribed medication
  • overdose of substance, extreme intoxication, seizure, or other dangerous withdrawal symptoms
